Regarding his left arm, Clem can't use the elbow right now; it remains to be seen how much use of it he will have. They say it could take a year before they know. When they dressed his arm yesterday, it was still looking healthy and healing. We found out that he did loose some bone in his arm from the accident and that they may use a skin graft to close the wound, but that is a long way off. The wound is open now and it is healing from the inside out. Of course, this is why the threat of infection is possible. Much prayer is still needed for his left arm. But for now, things are looking very hopeful.
While Clem's body heals, his state of mind, especially his patience, will need much prayer also. If you know Clem, he is so focused on the final result that the steps he will need to take to reach his goal are not being addressed. Aren't we all a bit like that? Pray that Clem will have the patience and determination to move from step to step, instead of trying to jump from the starting line to the finish line in one big leap. Pray for him not to become frustrated when the pace moves from rapid to slow and steady.
God is still working miracles for Clem and it is because of the strength and intensity of your prayers. Keep running the race for the prize through prayer. Love to you all, DV

Don't we all want the end goal without any "small steps" in between! We'll continue to pray for his entire healing, body and attitude. I've included suga' for him! .... Our Lord sends hope to you and Clem for the road ahead. Hebrews 10:23 - Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Love to you.....
Dear Debora:
Just checked your blog and was so relieved to know they got the filter in place and are working out/exercising Clem's arm and leg. As you mentioned, it will be a long road; but, as the old saying goes, the longest journey begins with the first step - we will surely pray for his ongoing strength and patient endurance. You will both "make it" as you encourage one another in Christ Jesus. We know He is able to take on our cares and trials as if they were His own - for surely He is acquainted with suffering and knows first hand the difficulties to be faced. As always, we send our love to Clem and to you all and are constant in prayer. "Be of good cheer" - He will help you overcome all obstacles - one day at a time. Beverly Bennett
Debora,
Thanks for all the blog updates. Every hurdle Clem jumps gets him one step closer to home. He'll make it.
Kevin had his last physical therapy on the last friday of the year. His therapist told him that he didn't know what to expect when kevin first came in for therapy. Kevin has made a miraculous recovery and we believe nothing less will happen for Clem.
You mention skin grafts. I'm sure the doctors have mentioned using apligraft(?), but if they haven't, asked them about it. it's an amazing product and it was very sucessful for Kevin. It's grown skin and they didn't have to make Kevin suffer anymore by having to harvest skin from unpleasant places.
We think of y'all constantly.

Dear Debora:
Lunchtime Monday - 1/7 - just finished the usual Monday morning tasks, read my PW circle lesson for tomorrow (Jonah 4), read my devotional and am ready for the rest of the day. Checked in with you all - nothing up yet, so hope all is well with Clem and with you. I recall you talking of being uplifted by your Sunday service last week (I think it was last week), so I pray that you were able to be sustained by that experience yesterday - "Come unto me all ye who are weary...and you shall find rest for your souls" - I echo that in my prayers for you all - I'll check in later for your update - Highland Pres continues in prayer for Clem's steady recovery and for you all. Dear Debora:
Glad to read your 1/7 comments - sounds good - moving forward, eyes and hearts focused on the goal - we all look forward with you to "tomorrow" - Beth Moore's "Praying God's Word Day by Day" today starts out with "God can do what He says He can do precisely because HE is who He says He is - she prays, "Lord God, help me to trust in your unfailing love." We do - you and Clem do - you can rest in no greater hands.
Love, Beverly Bennett
