after 8 pm visit

What a difference a few hours made! When we entered Clem's room tonight, Clem was comfortably laying in his bed, his head was elevated, his favorite body pillow was supporting his left arm and side, and his gown and all his linens were freshly changed. Better still, he was sleeping peacefully. MUCH better. The night nurse was a very capable and caring professional MAN, a far cry better than the day nurse (I won't get into that one--let's just say, my feathers got ruffled and mama bird figured out the pecking order and stuff started happening; nuff said). Seems his night nurse figured out what was making Clem so uneasy and took care of it.
Later he told us that they may actually take the ventilator out in the morning if he met certain criteria for his breathing. I know I've said it before, but join us in praying that THIS will be the time. Clem will be able to talk after they remove it, raspy at first, then clearly. It will be interesting to hear what he will say. Pray for our responses, too! He could ask some tough questions, especially about his left leg. I'll tell ya'll what; pray, Pray, PRAY. We're as excited about having the ventilator removed as we are apprehensive about breaking the news.
Thanks to all the people who have let me know how much help this blog has been for keeping up with Clem. And thanks and praise our God for His perfect will and His faithfulness. Blessings to all. DV

"Our Most Gracious and Holy God, thank You for Clem and for his life. We place him at your feet for the complete healing of his body. We thank You for the drs that know how to make his chest cavity better and his arm more perfect and his leg more able to take a prosthesis. Please cover Debora, Clem & Madi with your loving arms to give them strength, wisdom & patience to get through the following days. How Awesome You truly are! May Your Holy Spirit live in our lives and sustain our faith. In Your precious name, Amen."

I am so glad to hear he is doing well. I pray he will lose the ventilator tube tomorrow! I know good/bad days are to be expected, let's just hope & pray for more good than bad.

I hope the infection in his abdomen isn't too severe. Maybe the docs caught it in time.

Love Ya!

Good Morning! I am so glad to hear the new nurse could get him comfortable. We pray everyday for his recovery. I am so glad to hear that they will be taking the ventilater out, soon. I know his first words will sound beautiful to your ears. I pray for God to give you the strength and words to answer any questions Clem may have for you! Please let us know when we can come and see you all again.

May God continue to be with you, Clem and your family!

Love,
The Redding's

Clem & DV, I am praying everyday for Clem's recovery. Tell him the prosthetic is a breeze. Had mine for 6 months, works great. I know the last thing on your mind is Clem going back to work but, there are several people on T.O. rigs with prosthetics. Tell Clem he is in my thoughts and prayers.

Debora: George (minister at Highland Presbyterian) called for prayer for Clem at church yesterday. I think Molly King had mentioned Clem's accident to Margaret Hunter and she passed it on to George. I had not known about the accident, so I called Nora and she gave me your website so I could keep informed. What a blessing from you to all who are so concerned for Clem and for you and Madi. I had attempted to send a message to you on the "leave your comment" yesterday, but I did not have a google account, so I doubt you received it. Anyway, I remember your writing ability from our days on Presbytery committee to establish Dayspring and am so grateful (as are all of your close friends and family) to see you putting it to use in this way. I logged on this morning and was so glad to read "after 8 pm visit" and pray that things will continue to be better with each passing day. We will continue to remember Clem and you and Madi in our prayers, understanding that what happens to the one you love happens also to you. Thanks so much for making the "updates" available. We will continue to log on morning and evening for word on Clem and on all of you. Will pray that God give you stength to be able "to answer the tough questions". Rest assured that God will speak through you to Clem when that time comes. Clem is spiritually strong, as are you, and I pray that God will keep your hearts focused on Him who is able to do all things - Isaiah 41:10 is a reminder to "FEAR NOT FOR I AM WITH YOU; BE NOT DISMAYED FOR I AM YOUR GOD; I WILL STRENGHTEN YOU; I WILL UPHOLD YOU WITH THE RIGHT HAND OF MY RIGHTEOUSNESS." He will indeed do it. We stand with you all. Beverly Bennett
